OK, gang, just wondering if it's possible to camp at a WMA the night before a draw hunt...I know it's been allowed in the past (from what I've read elsewhere). Yep, to answer your question, I was selected for the hunt in question (javelina at Elephant Mountain in a few days), but I see that the area is closed Jan. 1-7. Technically, the hunt begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, but I'm planning to be there Monday evening. I've got a call into the WMA office, so I'll probably hear back while I'm on the road for that long drive out west. Anybody know for sure either way?
Thanks, Mike H.

Congrats on getting selected. I know Elephant Mountain has a campsite close to the registration station, but I don't know how it works if the site is closed. When I hunted out there (walk-in quail hunt) everything was self- service, so you're probably OK. Good luck with the hunt.
