WTB either a Remington 788 or Savage 340E chambered in 30-30 Win. No to be rude but I'm not interested in any of the variations of the 340 other than the "E". Will make a good offer based on the condition of the rifle and cover shipping costs.

I would also appreciate any leads you might have from local gun shops. I'm very up to date with the online offerings such as GunBroker and the other auction sites plus the various gun libraries but if you see one offered on another forum or source, please let me know.

sounds like you know exactly what you're looking for
but if you are open to other bolt 30-30, then look at armslist website for Savage 325 30-30
i'm sure you have your reasons, but i have used the 325 (scoped) and it was very accurate.
the 325 in 30-30 (i think the only diff in 340 and 325 is the sights)is easier to find and can still be found for well under $350.
not sure, but i think very few 788's were produced in 30-30 nearly 40 years ago
just a thought - either way, I pray God brings you what you're looking for.

Oh, just answered you via PM. With the online looking I want the newer model as there is quite an age difference across the models. These rifles tend to be "rode hard and put up wet".

Okay, I can call of the dogs. Just bought a 340E that has been restocked and barreled!
