Choose from the .25-06, .270, .280, .30-06, .338-06, and .35 Whelen. Not sure you'd notice any difference in any of them out to 200 yards. But having said that, I'd pick either the .270 or .30-06. I like a little more bullet diameter than a .25, more ammo choices than the .280, and less recoil than the .338-06 and .35 Whelen. All of this, of course, is just personal preference.

Makes sense to me. I plan on getting a .338-06 soon to add to my collection and will see what I think of the recoil with the lighter weight bullets.

I love my .270. I bought it as a 14yo kid because that's what my father told me I needed. Its been a great gun and has killed a great many deer and hogs in either mine or my brothers hands. if I had it to do over again I would have gotten a 3006 just because I like the heavier bullets afforded by 30cal. I throw a 150gr NP out of the .270 though. my father shoots the same out of his .280. I think either of the three are close enough that you'd have a hard time telling them apart. I've got little experience with the other calibers listed there. but I'm sure they'd get the job done.
