So, there is no measurement for "mass" but some guys quote this when they score a deer. Why do they use that terminology?

I notice it has 3 width measurements. Do you average these or what?

The only one that factors into the score is inside spread

No. The tip to tip and outside spread are not added. They are for identification. A lot of people add one or both, anyway, which explains a lot of inflated scores.

Just fill everything in and add what it tells you to add together.

I'd like to know the algorithm behind the score. I've found a pdf of the front of the score sheet but the instructions are on the reverse side.

As for width, I've heard some say it is to the center of the main beam, but the drawing with the instructions doesn't show that. It also says the width score can't exceed longest main beam length.

Well, the taxi who scored him said that was a twelfth point but it didn't look like an inch long to me. Let's say it is.

MB 22" x2=44"
Width 18.5
G1 4"&2"= 6"
G2 6"x2 = 12"
G3 8" x2 = 16"
G4 7"x2= 14"
G5 1"x2 = 2"
H1 3"x2 = 6"
H2 2.5"x 2 = 5"
H3 2"x2 =4"
H4 2"x2 = 4"
131.5"
Now this is rough scoring off of a pic, which we all do on trail cams. The angle is hard for me to really tell alot of detail on tine length. To simplify i treated him as if he were symetrical.

I will be picking up my mount tomorrow and will let you know how this compares to reality. I forgot to take notes when the taxidermist scored it.
