For someone that knows everything you have to do, how much it costs etc, can we get a sticky in this subforum explaining what you need to do to get a chl? It'd be handy and might influence more people to take that step.

They change the requirements too much. When I got mine 5+ years ago you had to attend a 10 hr. classroom instruction, qualify at the range, complete and submit the signed application, take fingerprints and passport picture that were then submitted by the authorized person, send money, wait 6 weeks and you got it. If you have anything on the police blotter they will find it so don't omit.

As with most things today, it best to read it directly from the source to be sure you are up to date.
