You also should see barasinghas, axis etc.

It's the powderhorn. Recently sold by mark Kelley to the state of Texas. If tpwd follows it's normal ignorant MO they'll go destroy and let the buzzards eat all of the exotics before they open it to the public. They are more bloodthirsty and wasteful than poachers.

It will be a playground for the chosen few before they open it to the public, trust me!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I certainly hope they don't do that and it's not a given that they will. I have hunted the nearby Guadalupe Delta WMA several times. They have Pere David deer running around there and they have asked us to NOT shoot them. The biologist said that the only exotics that were fair game were hogs.

I have many years of experience and examples of watching tpwd employ that MO. As do you. You have a problem with the truth?

I was being serious, just didn't know your angle on being mad.

Forgive my ignorance, what's the problem with what happened? You don't like private land being bought by the man? And like I said, forgive my ignorance, but it seems better than the place being bought by a developer and turned into "ranchettes," no?

Like I said, it is bull [censored] that I'm not one of the guys that gets to go in and help remove the exotics. Sure could use some nilgai meat.

Brad M. Kelley is his name, made his fortune selling cancer sticks. Maybe he was trying to ease a bad conscience with that land sell? angel

I wonder what they will do with the barasingha being that it's a listed Endangered Species. I guess sell them to a trapper or a ranch. I'd be interested in getting some of them.

I would think this would be a good thing for Texans that hunt. It will eventually mean more public hunting land in a state that has very little land available for public hunting. But, it looks like some don't think that is the case? confused2

I don't like any government entity owning land. I REALLY don't like it when tpwd comes in and pays taxpayer money to buy land and then destroy assets and let them rot.

They could at LEAST defray costs by letting exotic trappers come in and trap them and sell them.

They are bloodthirsty slaughterers who don't care how much taxpayer dollars they waste to feed their lust. That's what I have a problem with.

I'm a conservative. I don't think it's a governments responsibility to provide recreation.

I believe that since they are not native here they are not protected. They were brought here for hunting purposes.

That is a common misconception. It can get you charged with a felony.

I guess the state could have just saved themselves the trouble and made it illegal to import exotics into Tx. Would that be a better option?

The state doesn't need to be in the recreation business. Private landowners have proven over and over that they are better stewards than the state. The state also has no business dictating what I can and can't raise on my property.

I don't need a mommy and daddy anymore. Obviously some do.

Don't have a dog in this hunt but can't see TPWD getting more land when they have a problem keeping what they have up. All you hear from those Cats is how they are underfunded. Raise your fee's every year or two and bitoch about needing mo money!

Actually every taxpayer has a dog in this fight.
