Instead of going out to get fireworks to shoot with my kids for New Year's, I opted to go hunting one last time. Living in an AR county, I had to let several good bucks walk this season because they were just a little short of legal. I was starting to think I was going to get skunked for the 2015 deer season. While sitting in the blind this afternoon, the neighbors around me started shooting off fireworks early at sunset. This got the deer all stirred up. Shortly after the fireworks started, 6 does came running up to my feeder, bringing with them a 9-point buck I had not previously seen during the season. Immediately realizing he was indeed legal, I let the Spitfire mechanical broadhead from my crossbow do the talking. He only ran about 60 yards before piling up under an old oak tree. What a great way to close out 2015!! Happy New Year everyone!! banana
