I was looking at starting to pick up a few decoys and wondered why one over the other? I know the foam filled ones will weigh a little more, something I'll consider if doing walk in hunts.

foam ones won't take on water after they get sprayed with pellets

they also ride a little different in wind and waves, not a big difference though

and if you're walking in through water just Texas rig em and clip them to your waders and weight doesn't matter

No foam for me as I walk in most of the time. The weight makes a difference.

Well, I ordered two dozen decoys foam filled. We'll see how they look and hopefully get to try them out before the season is up. Thanks for the input.

I think the foam deke will move in less wind situation. Sit a little higher in water, therefore requiring less wind for movement.
