It just depends on the county, for example in Navarro co. its just for youth hunters, in Coryell co. adults can only shoot does or spikes (has to be true spikes, three pointers and up are off limits), for Bastrop co. adults must use a muzzleloader but general season rules apply so you can still a bigger buck as long as it meats the antler restrictions. Read your outdoor annual.

Coryell does have extended doe/spike, fort hood being a military base sets their own quota on how many deer can be taken out each year, once their units are shot out season is over.

La Salle county has the extended season. We are going to put a dent in the spikes.

Loc: Fort Worth - Hunt in Eastland ...
In Eastland county there is a late season, January 4-17, for youths who can kill does spikes bucks over 13 inches, and for adults who can kill does and spikes during that same time period.

Our place is archery only, can we use archery equipment during the muzzle loader season? I think not but would like to hear some other opinions.

Nope, stupid you can't use archery during extended muzzleloader IMO but thats the way the rule is written, only legal means is muzzleloader.
