Any ar gurus here? I got a TA01 at a great price..problem is i like those hornady superperformance 75 grain HP's. They are pretty fast for 75grain (2910 fps) but the optic bdc is caliberated for the 55 grain ammo in a 20" barrel. Im putting it on a 16" 1:7 twist. How far off do you think the bdc will be?

Pull up the info for the ballistics on each round from mfg. compare the drop for each distance.

What kind of yardage are you talking about using the reticle out to?

I pulled them and they are very similar actually. The 75grain has more velocity after 200yards.

Is the velocity from your gun or printed on the box? That velocity seems really high...

Put your velocity into a drop calculator than go to trijicons web site and look up the spacing on the reticle

So for ideal data you need velocity from you barrel. The Hornady data is out of a 24in barrel

If this data on sub tension is right...

100m 0"
200m 1.5'
300m 4.5'
400m 8.0'
500m 12.75'
600m 18.75'

Assuming 200 fps lost for 8 inches your velocity should be 2700 off published data with 2.5in offset for scope

1.5 is 200 yards
4.5 is approx 320
8 is approx 425
12.75 is approx 530
