Made it out with my dad last week on hog hunt. Had 9 javelina come in the first night with no hogs. I was told the javelina were off limits so I just enjoyed the company. The second evening I got permission to take one so when they came in I was able to pick out the boar and when he gave me a clear shot I made a good shot. Soon after the hog came and chased off the javelinas that came back after I shot the boar. After bedding down outside the shooting lane the hog got up and started to leave. When I saw she wasn't going to give me a shot I snuck out of the stand and stalked to 28 yards. It went 15' from where I shot it and fell over. The javelina and the hog were within 15 yards from each other. We barbecued the hog the next day and I've skinned, fleshed, and salted the hide of the javelina. The ranch owner said I'd probably never shoot a boar that big again with my bow. The teeth on those things are gnarly!

It's not how you fall, It's how you get up.
