My trusty old cheapo has developed a fogging habit. Looking at a 3-9x40, going on top of a .243, hunting primarily woods, but some 2-300 yd varmint shots. Max budget $200, and by max I mean I'm not interested in spending "just a little more". I've read reviews on the Burris Fullfield, Vortex Diamondback, Redfield Revolution, and Minox Zv3. Interested in hearing real world experiences.

I have not bought a Burris in years but I did NOT like the eye relief in the ffii. Maybe it's because I wear prescription glasses. My brother got a diamondback and I was impressed for the price. So far has held up to 30 shots of 7mag.

Have the Minox as well as a Revolution. Hands down, to my eyes, the Minox is the better choice. Have a FFII and like KR stated, the eye relief is a little short. Never have been bitten by the Vortex bug.
My Minox is on a 30-06. The Revolution is on a Savage 99 243. Both work but I like the ergonomics and the glass on the Minox better.

Nikon Prostaff and Burris FFI
3x9x either 40 or 50 will do what you need. For hunting I have 2 each including a Vortex and then all the way to SWFA for target shooting.

Where I work we sell all of the scopes you are looking at except the Minox. For my eyes the Fullfield II is the best of the bunch, excluding the Minox of course. Camera Land sells all of the scopes you are looking at. Why don't you call Doug or his assistant Neil and get their feedback? I suspect if I looked through one the Minox would be my choice.
