Academy has there DPMS 16" .308 Oracle AR-10 on sale for $730. Thoughts? Have had DPMS AR-15's, and they were reliable and very accurate. Just thought I would ask before I bought one. Know they don't have a dust cover or forward assist. Have never had to use the F/A on my AR-15'S, and use homemade brass catcher, so receiver is covered. Thanks cm250
My Yote toys, Ruger 77 22-250 Foxpro 416B & numerous hand calls ************ God would never send Firefighters to Hell because we would put the fire out!

Their old 308 stuff is great.
I have no experience with anything over the last couple of years.

I have had and have dpms ar10's and ar15's. I have rock rivers and smiths and bushmasters. Besides the eye candy it's hard to tell them apart. All of the dpms I have ever had were shooters. That's a great price. Where are they at?
I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

The oracle should have a dust cover. Check the price at an online distributer before you buy, but that seems like a good price. I would probably buy it!
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

They have a dust cover and forward assist. The one drawback to the Oracle in .223 and .308 is if you use BUIS. The gas block rail sits lower than the receiver rail so you cannot use a standard front sight. You must use a tall front sight.

That's a good price. I don't have the Oracle, but my main hunting rifle is a DPMS .308 that consistently shoots sub MOA at 100 yds.

That's not the Oracle, it's the Sportical for $730. Sportical doesn't have the dust cover or the forward assist. Good deal for a .308 though.

I've hunted most of the year with a DPMS...in 6.5 Creedmoor. It's a tack driver. So if the price is right I'd buy it.

Man,A 16" 308 will have a mighty big bark and flame show with it. I have a DPMS LR-260H,and it has been a fantastic rifle.I did change out the grip, butt stock, and trigger, but other than that it's all factory stock + optics. I think I paid $980 for it a few years ago when I bought it. My buddy has a 24" heavy barreled 308 DPMS LR series,he likes everything about it but the weight.

My buddy has a 24" heavy barreled 308 DPMS LR series,he likes everything about it but the weight. I had the same one and it's a beast and totally useless for a truck gun although since I've went to 10 round mags on my other DPMS I kinda wished I'd kept it.

I started with the 24 and then bought the 16. The 24 now sets and gets shot very little.
