My daughter is wanting to bow hunt my question is what would be a decent draw weight to get her up to before letting her hunt. She is 13 and has a 28 inch draw. Mainly looking at deer , hog and turkey. Keeping shots under 30 yards

There are some I know of getting good results with 35lb draw keeping shots short inside 25 yards. If stretching to 30 I would want 40lbs min. Shot placement (think heaviest bone as a rib) is even more important and selection of arrows and broadheads. Think Traditional style, heavy arrows and cut on contact broadheads.

For a visual of what heavy arrows and cut on contact broadheads can do for penetration take a look at some of the Griz Stick videos

Another route to get arrow weight up is the weight tubes from 3RiversArchery.com

28 inch draw at 13? Your daughter must be a giant. How did u come up with her draw length, if you dont mind me asking. I'm 5'11 and my draw Length is 28.5
