Marshmallows work great too as long as its cold, they melt in summer. Dry cat food is awesome too. FWIW I've rapped over 40 coons, add a few skunks and opossums in there with the dog anchor system, not garbage just watch for anything that will entangle the chain such as sticks, rocks in the radius around the trap set Well I caught about 600 last year and if you set enough traps you will soon realize the best method IMO. I've tried many different anchoring systems over the past 10 years and an earth anchor or double staking is the best sure fire bet that you will come bac to an animal and not wondering what went wrong, I just have gotten to the point of trying to eliminate all user error when trapping, frustrating to put in the work an come back to misses or lost gear
