I had a couple L61, AIII & AV SAKO's that were dead solid out of the box dependably sub moa with factory ammo...and a Ruger 77 tanger that was scary accurate with a little judicious bedding and trigger tuning...
Price range will determine most of the ? ...but not always.
Today for an off the rack shooter at under $800-$k I'd look at - in no particular order - a Wby Vanguard, FN Winnie, Tikka T3 if I was immune to recoil - but a SAKO A7 be Mo Bettah choice, a Remmy 700 and immediately put a Timney or Jewel triger in it, mebbe even a TC Venture with it's 5R rifleing & buyable at half the budget & MRC ASR at a touch more bux...+++ $'s will get you lots more choices as always. Weatherby Vanguard S2 or Browning X-bolt. The determining factor would be the weight you want as the Browning is over half a pound lighter.

Another vote here for the Vanguard S2.
If you are looking at the Sako, before you buy take a look at the Mauser M12 - a really outstanding rifle for about the same or slightly less than the Sako.
Kind regards, charlesb

Anybody laid eyes or fondled a Forbes Rifle & got an idea what they cost? I know NULA's are spendy and basically a flyweight custom, but I understand the Shaw barreled Forbes production gun is lots less bux and s'posed to be well worth the effort to find one.
Prolly be worth going to the DSC Show just to see the limited distributuion rifles. It was the only place I ever saw the beautimous current production Mauser's, that'll put dent in your Wrangler's back pocket too...but then there ain't nuthin at the show that is gonna be found at any of the Big Box retailers either....and lots closer than Reno. Brand new Tikka .300 Win Mag. An arbitrary load of 180 gr. Noslers, mid range powder charge of H-1000. The shot numbers were when I was fouling the barrel before load development. The flier wasn't me, just a warm barrel. The little squares are 1/2", not bad for an unmodified mass produced rifle.

Most people would be flinching by number 11 shooting the load out of a light weight rifle.

This was from my Vanguard S2 in 300win I bought back in 2012. This group is from a standing position at about 105 yards, out of the box.
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Been happy with my Montana Rifle Company X2 300 Win Mag. 100 yards checking zero. 200 yards, correction between the two groups, four shots each. First group on the right, second on the left. One shot on the left after correction, and then a second correction followed by 3 shots.

I'm a big Vanguard fan, we have four in the family. But the Vanguard .300 WM only comes with a 24" barrel. If I had a .300 WM it would definitely have a 26" barrel. I may be in the minority here.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

Bought a Winchester two months ago and still haven't shot it. I hope it's just close to some of the groups above. Have to remember to come back and let you know.

I like the Vanguard/Howa too. Years ago, I had one in .338 WM that I foolishly let slip through my fingers. I currently own 2 .300 WMs: a trued Win M70 with a 24" Douglas Premium barrel and a tricked-out Rem M700 with a 25" Krieger barrel. Frankly, I prefer the 24" barrel. It carries well and balances better than a 26, and the 60-70 fps velocity difference between the two is irrelevant, IMO. But like Boo says, it boils down to individual tastes.
