Ok, so I'm going out tomorrow that isn't the question. My question is, should I go out tomorrow morning before sunrise knowing that the wheat will be covered in 8 to 10 inches of snow, or wait until mid morning (after the sun is supposed to come) and then hunt all day? I can't hunt my feeder because the wind destroyed that blind. So my only option is to hunt the wheat field.

Hunt off the wheat field between the field and their bedding area. And get in there well before daylight.

And hand throw corn, lots of corn, they will appreciate it.

I hand threw yesterday and before they got to it... Sleet had covered it. Redo this morning.

Smart old doe will stomp the ice through to get to the corn....seen it many times

Yes my deer hung around yesterday afternoon and found every kernal.

I'm heading out tomorrow evening, and was glad this topic came up as I've never hunted with snow on the ground either. I was going to sweep some spots to put corn down, but you guys seem pretty certain of just putting it out as is... What about adding some vanilla as well?

Think about the animals up north in the states where there is snow on the ground for months. They have to find a way to get through the snow to find their food. I would say no amount of snow we get here in Texas will be an issue for them.

I grew up in CO and have hunted a lot of deer and elk in snow and blizzards. Animals are adapted to it and they still have to feed. Look for areas they can get out of the wind if there is any and slip up on those spots. Watch the first areas to get sunshine because they will hit those to soak up some sun.
