Have any of you guys shot a 125 gr bullet in your .308? If so, did you reload it, or was it factory? What critters have you killed with that bullet? Thanks, fellas, I appreciate any input.

I have not, but I see no reason it wouldn't work.

Out of curiosity, why do you want a light bullet in your .308?

The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

I've haven't tried it yet. Conventional wisdom says it will be explosive with a full powder charge depending on bullet construction. Obviously, a 125 SST will be much more explosive than a 125 Accubond.

I loaded some Federal 130 OTM for my 16" FNAR. I'm getting 2750 FPS which I'm thinking will be pretty ideal. Taking it next weekend so maybe I will finally connect on the final weekend of the season. Most likely, I'll be watching squirrels eat my corn.

I have some 110 grain Hornady VMAX bullets loaded for my 308, it is amazingly accurate in my Savage 10, it's also devastating on prairie dogs and other predators.

I have loaded many lighter bullets in the 308. The 125 BT, 125 SST, 125 Sierra SP, and the 110 V-max I have loaded. the 125 options makes for a very fast round and will do fine for hunting in Texas.
