Was planning on heading out tomorrow noon time and hunt the afternoon and night for hogs. Then hunt the full day Monday and come back home at night. Just saw Freer is expecting 25-35 mph winds for the entire time I was planning on being out there. What do y'all think? What's yalls experience? My next time out will be on Friday(new years day) when the winds will be down and still around 40-50 degrees.

I've also noticed when the wind is N/NW, I never see. Could be because its downwind to where the deer trails are. A month ago we had a rare south wind and saw 4 doe pretty close to the blind.

Hunt son hunt.

Took the wife out yesterday and back at it this morning.

Saw a nice 10pt and 8pt in the afternoon and a 7pt and 8pt again this morning. Cold fronts are funny things at times.

One thing would sway my decision...the rut and you should be in the middle of it or at least start of it. I would hunt.

Late in the season, I always hunt as much as I can, not just when conditions are 'ideal'.

It doesn't sound as if you have to choose between the two dates cited (but can hunt both times) so...get your butt out there!

Pretty sure you won't see anything sitting on the couch at home.

Exactly, if you have to choose between 2 times, pick the better conditions. If you can get out both times. GO!!!!!!!!

X2,
I hunted Brooks CO yesterday and this morning. Saw a nice 10 in the evening, nothing in the morning. Back at it now. Good luck.

I wanted to bow hunt this morning with the north wind but got rained out at my place, creek gets up and will not go across when it is raining because it can get wide and deep otherwise I would have hunted.

I've seen nothing in the wind. I hunt a wooded property, about after the third tree i hear fall, I'm gone.

I hunted yesterday in a bad wind in Menard. Feeder went off at 4:45 and had 8 does come in. Shot 2 does. I didn't think I would see any but we did. My dad walked the property and saw 4 bucks bedding and they spooked when they saw him.

unless the wind is wrong, the answer is always "hunt."
