I've had a few questions about the Tangent Theta scope I put on my new 280ai -- so I thought I'd share my thoughts and experiences with it thus far...

Tangent Theta is a new scope company out of Nova Scotia that bought the intellectual property and assets of Premier. However, these scope are not a rebranded premier scopes. While I have no experience with premiers TT has apparently made vast improvements. Some of the features that I have noticed.

First Focal Plane
Mil-Mil
Illuminated GenIIXR reticle
Locking diopter ring
Zero Stop turrets make re-zeroing crazy easy.
No tunneling when zooming in/out
Tracking seems spot on
Very forgiving parallax
The glass quality goes without saying.

I like mine too. Wish it had some more hash marks for wind holds but loving the thin reticle and tool-less re-zero.

I'd sure hope I wouldn't just "like" a scope after spending $4300 on it. LOL. I absolutely love my S&B 5-25x56, it still blows me away every time I take it out. TT didn't quite have their scope out yet when I bought the S&B so I didn't get a chance to look through one. I am definitely curious to see how they stack up to other top tier scopes once they've been out for several years.

I just read about 3 hrs on that scope last night, maybe not 3 hrs, but everything I could find. Sounds like the new world class scope, but very little online about it, other than factory info and one fella that carried them 1st. Just not that many reviews. Read a lot of fellas are waiting to see if they hold up and/or stay in business.

3 models I saw they currently carry aren't cheap by any stretch, one of the reasons I read Premier went out (and supposedly they made the best at the time), they priced themselves out of business, since most fellas cant/wont, rationally spend 4k +.

From the build and quality reviews I read, it is the "yeti" of the scope world no doubt and the fellas who bought out the Premier testing equipment and other proprietary Premier "stuff', sure sound like great, focused, quality minded folk. They are also going to honor any Premier scope warranties through TT

Thanks for posting this. Refreshing to see quality optics being discussed. Been contemplating the 315M for my next scope purchase to complement the 3 Premiers on my go-to rifles.

I'd like to borrow that for a week and do some testing. Scope only, of course.

I remember you had one, but a few seconds looking through it isn't the same as doing some drills with it from 100-800, dialing and holding.

I'm hoping to get up to your place to do some shooting soon -- if you behave, I just might leave mine with you. grin
