I've been laughing my butt off at FiremanJGs post -- until I realized...

I shoot a .308 and its a Tikka
JG recently got me into long range shooting and I built a custom (on a tikka action of course)
My biggest buck was HF
I have a city job but drive a pickup (fx4 with off-road package because those potholes in Dallas can reek havoc on your undercarriage) to my small acreage LF spot that I hunt with a crossbow while wearing Sitka gear head to toe with an Ozonics unit blowing like mad - sometimes behind a ghost blind.
I usually stop at Starbucks and pour my latte into my Yeti Rambler to sip on the way.
I have a yeti cooler (but my wife won't let me put game in it)
I had a drone but it flew away.
I'll eat chili with or without beans.

bang

...we are so individualized - not another one like me anywhere to be found.

Do I get bonus points for owning more than one Tikka, Yeti, AND Ford pickup - oh and there is an empty venti Starbucks (red holiday cup thank you very much) on my desk as I type.....and I too will eat chili without discretion.

Is this like the "Cowboys" that leave the bar in their 1996 Geo Metro and drive to their apartment in the city?

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Heck, one day it occurred to me that: I didn't have a truck, a dog, a chainsaw, and I didn't BBQ, and lived in Texas. Truly an ugly realization. Traded the Beemer on a truck and bought two chainsaws. I now feel more secure in my manliness. I've taken to cleaning and trimming my fingernails with my KaBar. My wife says that makes people nervous in nice restaurants though.

I wear ostrich boots and drive a VW GTI.

You are not alone, but at least we aren't like some of those rhinestone cowboys out there.

I feel like all that results from having more money, than time. Allow me to explain...

You have a good job and make a good living, but you work your tail off.

Most of your free time comes in short spurts throughout a long day at work, and you rarely have whole days off- forget a weekend.

So you end up buying whatever tickles your fancy that might increase your odds. Some of it is just nice stuff that you like, and that's the only reason you bought it- not even because it might help.

That is cool man, you worked your butt off and it's paying off, you got the money and you can spend it how you like. If you wanna build a custom rifle, or rock a yeti and a 4x4 that rarely goes offroad, or hunt a high fence ranch loaded with record breaking bucks or exotics... well, that is capitalism at work and American as $!#€%. I'd rather that, than to see you a vegan driving a hybrid and protesting against hunting or gun ownership.

cheers

And you think Antler Restrictions are great, should be everywhere, but you don't hunt in an AR County, ever.

Well. On a deeper level, that's not too far from the truth I guess. Work hard, Play hard. Right?

I just like to think of myself as someone who really, really, really loves hunting. Any time. Any place. Any (legal) means.
