I've always liked the two stage triggers

And I hate two stage triggers.

Different strokes for different folks.

I use RRNM two stage triggers and JP springs. My first AR was a RR and it came with the NM trigger. I just got used to it.

I like the Kidd two stage in my 10/22's. I also do my own tuned single stage in most of the 10/22's. After the first pull I get used to it.

I have equal love for both, I hated the idea of a two stage trigger until I used a good one, now I'd replace all my singles if Huber triggers weren't 400 a trigger.....

Love my CMC flat triggers though.

Didn't like the idea of a two stage until I had one. I wouldn't say I prefer it, but it really makes no difference to me. As long as it's light and breaks clean, I'm good with it.

Not a fan of CMC triggers at all. I know lots of guys like them but its hard to like a CMC when you've had a Geissele and an AR Gold. IMO AR Gold makes the best feeling, most crisp single stage out there. It is phenomenal. You really just have to try one to understand.

And Jerry Miculek also shares that opinion, as he runs that trigger in his competition AR's. I met him at a 3-gun championship a few years ago. Super nice guy, never seen anyone else shoot like him.

I have CMC and Geissele. I also have single and two stage. I like both, the trick is not getting them confused when you're shooting. This isn't a decision that anyone else can make. Both are good, but only you can decide which you prefer.

For plinking and hunting, single stage. For target/long range stuff I like a two stage. How's that for a split personality?

I have a Jard single stage adjustable in my AR and it's phenomenal. I do prefer a single stage, but I've tried Cast's two stage ARs and they really are quite good. Not sure I'd ever opt for one though.

Well I figured that all my rifles are single stage so thats what I went with, except I went with the 3lb Velocity drop in trigger.

I have been running Tubb's new 2-stage trigger in one of my guns and I am really starting to like it. You have complete control over all aspects of both stages and can really set it up for any situation. I set my first stage of travel to be pretty long and the first-stage weight is 2x my 2nd stage weight. From there you set the sear length engagement. The trigger shoe is also fully adjustable from a position perspective.

I've found this very useful on my 338 Norma which is mostly got long distance engagement. I am also putting one on my hunting rifle but I would not use one in a competition setup.

Tubb has allot of videos on the trigger - you should check them out if you are considering a 2-stage trigger.

You can also configure it as a single stage by changing the settings of both stages should you ever want to go single stage and have it installed.

Wasn't sure I'd like a two stage on my AR's at first, but I have a Geissele two stage on all of them now.

I use my AR's primarily for hunting. I suppose its a personal thing, but unless you are trying to keep the platform the same as other firearms you might use, I simply view a Single Stage as providing a slight advantage for 'speed' and the Two Stage being geared more toward precision.

A GOOD two stage will let you 'roll' right through the entire trigger pull if a quick shot is needed, (or multiple shots), but also provides that 1st stage 'take up' ending in a light and crisp trigger break in the second stage.

I've actually come to prefer feeling the 'take up/trigger prep', hitting the 'wall' and then controlling exactly when the shot breaks...owing to the tactile indicator.

There is not a wrong answer. I prefer single stage because that is what I'm used to so I got a Timney for my AR.

I have ran a bunch of both and my ARs all run single stage.
Defense, 3 gun, LR, hunting..
I do best when they are all consistent.


I like the Wilson Combat the best and order them at 3lbs vs the stock 4.

Two stage SSA-E for me! My bolts are single though. I don't really care but in my AR's long range I like two stage.

Never shot a two stage but would like to see how they feel. I use the CMC and love em.

After putting a huber two stage in my rifle I don't think I can go back to a single stage trigger.

Got the Velocity trigger installed tonight, single stage 3 lb with nickel boron coating on the moving parts. I must say the trigger looks great, almost a shame to hide it, and the install is very easy. The trigger pull is very crisp with little to zero take up, I'm sure there is some but I'm not good enough to tell, and has what feels like the slightest amount of over travel. The reset is super short, almost and maybe too short if you aren't paying attention I can see double taps very possible. Overall, with only minimal dry firing, I have to say I like it, and hopefully a trip to the range will tomorrow will guarantee I like it. Only problem I'm having now is the safety is very stiff. But it was like that with the previous trigger also. When coming from firing to safe, there is a catch about half way, leaving it in no mans land, and is a little concerning. Going to pull the safety from my other AR to see if that helps
