I thought it would be fun to track the progress of a buck we took this year. He ended up scoring 194 and had over 41 inches of mass.

The first picture is of him in 2012. Next is of 2013 and then last year 2014. Then the trail picture from this year and then a picture of the day we took him. Hard to pass up a deer like this each year but this shows what patience can produce. I have some other bucks we have taken with the same progression pictures I will try to put together soon.

tooth wear and history we think he was 7.5. We will have his teeth tested in a lab and know by this summer actual age.

Very nice buck, must be nice being able to track those monsters from year to year on a low fenced place. grin I thought people could only do that on HF places(some even call them pets if you can watch them year to year)
Keep up the good work!

Yep - dog chased him into the tank and he died there. Got him out with a boat next morning

That is a great buck, and most people would have shot him in 2012, and it would have still been a great deer then. But you'll never get 190s if you shoot them all at 160.

Well done. Glad he wasn't shot as a 2.5-year old - I envy you your patience!
