Recently inherited grampas old guns and I have a few of my own that need to be in a safe. Looking for a 12-18 gun safe. Been looking at Academy, gander Mtn and the like. I'd be appreciative of any advice you pro's on here can give me about buying a good safe. I don't post much but enjoy learning alot and lurk here often. Thanks.

I bought this one recently at Sam's Club for $500. The exact same safe is sold at other places for $1,000. Fire rating, weight (so it can't be taken out easily during robbery), and capacity (it will never hold as many guns as stated) is what I was looking for. This one fit the bill for me. Hope this helps.

The best price I found was from a company in Garland on Craigslist, can't remember the name. They delivered and installed it.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

The "out of stock" is just talking about online ordering. You can check on the Sam's website for your closest store to see if they have it. I just checked the Bryant Irvin store in Fort Worth (closest to me) and they have them in stock.

Most stores have them in stock, but $100 more and you gotta pick it up yourself.

Do not buy a safe based on what you need now. Buy the biggest safe you can afford.

try "The Safe Company" in Garland. I bought my AMSEC there a few years ago.

No truer words have been spoken when it comes to purchasing a safe. I made the mistake and will be buying a second safe in the near future.

Yep, go big or buy another. Made the same mistake. Now either sell some for more or don't buy more.
If you already have 10-20 now got to go 30-40 size or have two safes at 20 each.
