Had a lease down there about 5 years ago. Enjoyed it except for the drive.

I am heading there the day after Christmas. Any signs of the rut or have I missed it?

When my son gets a little older I will try and find another place around Barnhart. Some big deer in that county he just could not handle the drive for now.

I love that country. Can't beat it, except for the drive...

Hunted there for 5 years on the Powell Field Ranch. Took some very nice bucks. The drive sucked and I finally gave in to it.

I am from Big Lake and here visiting for Christmas. There are some big ones on the hiways for sure. There is so much oilfield traffic now. We were on the Rocker B thanksgiving breaking out flowline and saw 8 covey of quail. We don't hunt here, my grandad has a place in Menard so that is where we go.
