Got to the lease late Thursday night and decided to hunt a brush blind looking at my bow feeder Friday Morning in hopes of some pigs but they were a no show. I start making my rounds grabbing my camera cards and I drive up to my South feeder only to find a dead buck under my feeder. As I get closer it is what I was hoping to be my #1 potential trophy for next season. It was a very nice 3.5 year old buck that had double crabclaws that he had broken off. A dead buck under your feeder and your mind starts to go through a lot of different scenarios as to why it was under the feeder.

What I found on my game cam never cross my mind. The first pic is a nice 8pt dragging him into the feeder area and proceeding to drag him around in circles around the feeder for around 3 hours before finally hanging the body on a feeder leg and pulling himself loose from the dead buck. I am very surprised I didn't find 2 bucks laying there. If only I could have been down there last Saturday and possibly could have harvested a nice mature 8pt locked up with a dead 10pt.

Saturday evening I was able to catch up with a doe I call camel nose. I have hunted her the last 2 seasons and have had a couple of close calls with her this season. I thought she had 9 lives as just before I was ready to pull the trigger a young 7 point runs her off. After a couple of minutes she made her way back out to the corn I had thrown out on the road in my area. Made a quick shot before the buck ran her off again. She ran maybe 40 yards. Cool part is right after the shot I was able to get back on her with the scope and was able to watch her jump straight up in the air before bolting.

That's a bad way to go, but really cool pics to have on cam!

He was an awesome 3.5 year old for our area and only needed a couple more weeks to make it another year. We were almost certain someone would shoot him this year and he almost made it. I rough scored him around 120" which is a great buck for our area and could have only imagined what he would have been next year but will never know.

That is a crazy pic series, very nice captures. Bet that 8-t was ex-haus-ted after that.

Good harvest on the odd doe as well.

Some incredibly rare game cam pics there! Even more rare that he was able to free himself on his own.

I know my first reaction when you texted me the pics was something like "What the **** happened???". I can only imagine what your reaction must have been when you first saw him! roflmao

Memories are made in many more ways than just pulling the trigger. Finding something like that under your feeder and having the pics that tell the story to go with it is just one of those ways.

Yup. I believe that was your text grin Just glad we were able to capture the event and weren't left to speculate the reason he was laying there as we all know game cams seem to fail when you most need them!!

Man that is nuts and a bummer about the good buck dying but at least you were able to find him there and not just lost forever

Wonder how long and far he drug that buck around, did they fight right there by the feeder or did it occur some where else and he just ended dragging him there to try and eat confused2

Great pictures man and congrats on getting your Camel Nose girlfriend cheers

That is sad and cool at the same time. Sad such a nice young buck had to go that way. Cool you were able to capture it and know the story. Like we've said many times, next year is shaky at best when it comes to mother nature allowing another year for a deer. Camel nose will eat well I'm sure. Thanks for sharing.

cheers
