Ive done a little looking around online but haven't found much. My A-bolt is already a very good shooting gun but I'm considering getting a synthetic stock and maybe do a couple other things. Just seeing what options are out there.

I had a customer that swore by the Browning A-bolt's he loved them, and I rechambered about 5 or 6 of them for him. He upgraded the stocks to whichever model he wanted. A few were some of the Bell and Carlson models, and a few laminated one's. They shot well, but the main issue with the A-bolt's is the short magazines. You can't seat the bullets out far, so it limits you on what bullets you can use. That was my main complaint. He also had some trigger upgrades he did, like springs, and firing pin and such. They shot well, but were not my cup of tee. But they were hunting guns, and he shot them well out to 500-600 yards.

Mine is a hunting gun in 270. Anything I do would be functional. Im not looking to do anything but hunt with it but id like to at least get a laminate stock at some point so I don't have to work about scratching the stock or having it swell if it gets wet and whatnot.

I had an A-Bolt stainless stalker in .300 Win mag... It got a Pachmayer decelerator pad for it, back when those first came out, and I had it Magna-Ported.

That was the only changes I made though. I was happy with the synthetic stock. The trigger was good, too.

It was one of the most accurate rifles, just as it came out of the box, that I have ever owned.

The Magna-Porting, as advertised, had no effect upon the guns accuracy.

The gun is a tack driver just thinking id like a nice synthetic stock. I may just go another route and get a whole new rifle lol.
