 Fun hunt with the old man today. He got rewarded with a band too.

Found some mallards in a tight timber hole yesterday that I thought would be perfect for my 75 year old dad this morning to take a swing at.
Well he swung, a little early on the first pair that came in but after we settled him down a bit he was knocking them down left and right. He did not enjoy the boat ride though, it was a little rough.
His last mallard drake he shot was banded, his first banded duck for him, the kicker is we did not even notice till we got home and were cleaning all the ducks.

Just reported the band, it was banded in Saskatchewan, Canada in 2009. Pretty cool.

He did not enjoy the boat ride though, it was a little rough. Man let off the throttle a little bit when you got your 75 yr old man in the boat. SMH. Tell him I said congrats on the band, and getting the ol guy out there.

I would do anything to be able to hunt with my dad! He's 73 but has a bad hip and I walk in so that won't work! Congrats on the band!! That's awesome!!

It's the 3rd time I have taken him this year, he really enjoys it, I just have to really pick where I take him. He has trouble wading or standing in deep water.
He shot his limit each time out but this time it was all mallards and he loved it.
