Got drawn for a hog hunt in March. Any advice or experience will be appreciated.

I've posted stuff in the Public Hunting forum about my experiences at Daughtrey. I mostly go to compartments 14 & 15 and have seen lots of javelinas and deer. I see plenty of hog sign around water, but haven't come across any hogs in the open. I did a drawn hunt for javelinas & coyotes there last February and got one of each.

I remember seeing the photos you posted and have read your post. Thank you for the input.

We got selected a couple of years ago for a management buck hunt. We were in the compartment that is right next to the highway 99 bridge. I got a 100 pound sow on the south side and my brother got a 120 pound boar on the north side of that compartment. The fella that was in the compartment right next to us (to the east) also got a couple of small pigs. So that's a good area.

No prayer in school....What's next, no thinking in church? It's not just about pie in the sky when you die. It's also about steak on your plate while you wait!

I was down at Daughtrey #15 again today dove/rabbit hunting with a friend. We spooked five deer walking around, as well as something big in the brush that we never saw -- I'm guessing a javelina. Could have been a hog I guess. We saw plenty of scat and torn-up ground.
It might be a good idea to get down there and scout around in some of the compartments if you haven't been there, so at least you'll know which ones you'll want to pick when you get asked your preference.
