Just a heads up to you guys ordering not just guns/ammo but anything else this holiday season especially in the Austin area...... The thieves are out in force!

I ordered some ammo and magazines online and the UPS driver left them on my front door step .... and the box was STOLEN!

Filed a report with Midwayusa.com which for the record was awesome to deal with on this issue and after UPS "investigated" the matter they shipped me a replacement order - MINUS the 2 bricks of Federal Automatch .22 which is of course out of stock now (they refunded the cost of the .22 ammo)

Then the UPS driver left the replacement order on my door step AGAIN......and once again it was stolen!

I don't live in the ghetto but the replacement shipment was the 3rd order stolen off my front door step since I moved in; and FYI its UPS "company policy" to not leave packages at addresses that have had prior theft claims. Or so I was told by the "UPS representative" I spoke with last week.

The most unnerving thing about it is that now a thief or possibly thieves now know not only my address but also what make, model and calibers of some of the firearms I own.

sorry to hear about all that.
i just spent the day today at a magistrate's
hearing to get some of my property back after
a break-in. i was surprised at the folks that
were there for that, and thought of how many
others that didn't get anything back.
you're best off to have an extensive photographic
record of any and all valuables, plus lists of
descriptions and serial numbers of everything in
2 different places. i wouldn't have got my one
item back if i hadn't had all that info on the
spot. (they found it in the pawn shop the next day-
this is 2 1/2 months + ago)

it's truly a sorry shame that thieves aren't publicly
caned and beaten in public, or dragged through a
briar thicket nude at high speed

Hope you called the police. I read just a few days ago that police are putting tracking devices in hundreds of items and leaving them laying around houses. I man can now track dozens of devices where before they just did stakeouts at one or two places. Their arrests are many times higher that just a year ago.

I bought a surveillance system for about $250 and put a stop to that. You can even get a dummy camera for like $10-20. I hate thieves, they will get caught eventually.

@Maximum..... I've been there; had to sit in front of a judge and argue with pawnshop owners over my own property before and the documentation I had saved the day.

I remember the look on the judges face when the pawnshop owner said that it was my fault my stuff got stolen while he was complaining about being out the $100 he paid for my Browning Sweet Sixteen!

Well the pawn shop owner didn't do anything wrong, and he is out the money he paid for the items. The theft and burglaries are so high in Dallas that a lot of pawn shops hold the item for 5 days before paying the customer, that protects the pawn shop if it is stolen and gives the police a slim chance of recovering it. Sadly most people don't keep proof of purchase and serial numbers, if they did, they wouldngetvthwir stuff back more often

I'm home when the UPS driver comes by in the evening and lately the (new?) driver leaves my packages by the end of the driveway. Doesn't matter if it's a $1400 item that requires a signature, they leave it at the end of the driveway. Only way I know it's there is to look up the tracking number and see it says delivered to door. So I have to go searching for it. I do have a no trespassing sign and beware of dog sign but drivers always used to come up to the door. This driver won't. I've made several complaints and gotten calls from supervisors but that never helps. The dog sign was "just in case". The indoor dog loved the UPS drivers and he died of cancer at 12 years old several years ago.
The FedEx girl drives up and leaves it by the garage somewhere: on a vehicle, on a 4 wheeler, on a stack of potting soil bags, it's never the same spot. And never by the house door.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Most places allow customization of the order to require adult signature.

Pass the gravy.

I would've beat that SOB within an inch of his life. I worked for a pawnbroker, and that is PART OF the pawn business. Period.

Sorry to hear about the thefts. We no longer have anything sent to our home. All shipments come to our place of employment.

I saw somewhere the other day that someone kept having his packages stolen off his front porch. He set up a dummy box full of dog poo. Sure enough, it got stolen...bet the thief was proud of that one roflmao

I have all of my packages shipped to my office for that very reason. We have a lot of construction going on in our neighborhood with new houses being built. It's just safer not leaving them on the front porch while people aren't home.
