the 2016 python challenge in Florida will be a month long event starting Jan/16th..grand prize for team is $5000. & $3000. for individual. I take it is live capture, why the heck don't they just shoot

I read an article on it. I got the impression it was not a live hunt, but get 'em any way you can. They say it's harder than it appears since they're mainly underwater or in thick bushy swamp. Those buggers are supposed to have completely destroyed the everglades.......eaten all the small mammals to the point there are no rabbits, coons, etc. left at all.

It still amazes me how much it has changed down there. I used to travel through south Florida with my parents as a kid and the wildlife was abundant. Now when I go home it's mostly alligators and the occasional large snake on the road. These things have really done a number and it's even noticeable from roads like "alligator alley"

Dang, I didn't know all that. I knew it was bad, but not that bad. And I thought this thread would be about a guy looking for a revolver hammer
