I am wanting to put an Eotech on my AR, but also want a scope for longer range. Do any of you use quick releases to switch between 2 different optics? after I put one back on that has been sighted in, how accurate are they? Should I expect to have to sight in every time after putting either one back on? Thanks

A good one should pretty much return to zero. I think Larue guarantees that theirs do, maybe? I'm willing to bet a PEPR or Leupold comes pretty close as long as you don't bang the scope around while it's off the gun.

Check out American Defense, Larue, or Bobro. All three have a return to zero guarantee. Most folks who have tested them agree that after taking off and remounting they will go back to within 1moa of original zero.

Having owned and used an ADM recon and Larue LT104, I can confirm those results.

Not sure if the PEPR will, I suspect that as long as you put it back on the same rail slot it will be pretty close.

I use GG&G on the AR hunting guns to hold the scope. I can go to the BUIS if the scope acts up. It will RTZ every time. They have a dandy eotech mount.

There's quick release as in levers, and there's less quick release with the 1/2" nuts. I've got Badger mounts with the 1/2 nuts and they do pretty well. I don't really field swap, but do it at home while planning the hunting trip.. but it's not that big a deal.

When mounting these 'They' say using the same torque settings is very important. Seems like 65 inch pounds is about standard. The two most used torque wrenches (that I can see) for this seem to be the Borka Tools (I have the adjustable one and love it) and the Wheeler FAT. You just remember where on the rail the scope goes, push it as far as you can forward in those slots, and alternately torque the nuts. Takes about 3 mins.

My Burris PEPRs do. But I just trade them for hunting purposes, not life dependent/defense purpose.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I have a Larue spr for my little 1-4 scope and it returns fine on the ar. I have the Warne rings that are 2 separate rings that have nuts that your hand tighten. They do NOT return to zero on my 308. Once installed they will hold perfectly fine, but the POI will shift if u take them off and put it back on.

If u watch the YouTube channel 8541 Tactical, that dude does this test with a 308 on the Bobro and American Defense. The Bobro was fine but the American Defense did have POI shift. Take that for what it's worth.

Alamo four star makes some of the best QD mounts I've seen yet. Larue qd mounts work but they chew up the area they mount to.
