I have found a gun I want to buy, and I need it shipped. But here's the kicker, it's inly sold in Germany. It's the exact same gun that I carry everyday here in Texas, except the frame is slightly different. It's the Sig P226LDC (long dust cover). I know there is a point system that guns imported into the states have to meet, and this gun does meet those requirements, Sig in their infinite wisdom just doesn't sell it here, that I can find. So what's the deal with buying one in Germany?

Have to go through an importer

Unless they do it in volume. Will be cost prohibitive

That's a cool looking gun, but idk if I'd go through that much trouble for an extra inch of rail.

How would I go about finding an importer?

It's probably not, but I like it and it's worth looking at

BP, have you tried calling Sig US and seeing if they can import it for you? May do it under the LEO banner IDK

I have looked in to taking my guns to thailand when we move we were told that we had to go through an importer then there was some customers stuff and paper work you have to file and get approved and there was one more thing i dont know really it was but the most important thing was the importer who was very expensive it will have to meet all use standers for what ever that is if i look i can tell you what you need to bring a gun in to the states i am sure my wife did not through it away being a mild harder is part of the Thai cutler they dont through any thing a way that might be of use I am the opiset if i dont use it for a set amount of time its trashed. i will asker were it is when she comes home if she can remember were it is for you but you can google it as well it is not an easy process it is time consuming and expensive you may end up paying 4times what the gun is worth

I am pretty sure you will not be able to get this gun. Every model gun imported has to have its own import certificate and it will not be worth the time or cost involved for Sig USA to mess with for one gun.
