Got this big guy on Sunday morning. Hadn't seen him at all this year, neither on camera or while sitting. I had several does out eating on the road that I had corned and I remember thinking to myself 'i haven't seen any bucks this morning'... then not even a minute later I see him at about 400 yards walking my way. He was chasing a doe but he was just as busy chasing a little buck off from her. He was in and out of my sight for about 15 minutes and I knew he was good but I couldn't keep the binoc's steady enough to really make out what he was. He finally moved a little closer and I was about to get ready for the shot and he chased the doe back in the brush... 2-3 minutes later he moves back out. Standing broadside at about 175yards... maybe more, I didn't count it off but I also dont want to exaggerate the distance. As soon as I shot and he started running I felt pretty good about it. Waited for about 15 minutes and drove up to the road where he had been standing - about 20 yards in the brush there he was!
