This guy until yesterday. Picked up a Ruger Collectors 50th Anniversary Edition 10-22. I'll take it out today and see how it shoots.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Good, it shoots good. It can shoot great but it will need a loving touch or two to get to great. First touch the trigger. A PC three piece trigger kit with adjustable sear or a Kidd trigger if you're high rolling.
Enjoy your new gun. Go find the ammo it likes. Have you got a selection to try?

Very cool 10/22 Mine is 30 years old (looks like it) and still going strong. And article in Outdoor Life ten years ago claimed that if you totaled every manufacturers total sales of semi-auto .22 lr they would not equal the number of 10/22's sold.

if you were initiated properly your first rifle should be a .22
I've grown to appreciate the rimfire and have been building my collection
Winchester 94-22 Winchester 94-22 75th Boy Scout Edition 3 Browning 22 (bottom eject) Remington 541-T 4 Remington 597 AAC Ruger 10/22 Sako Quad
several .22 pistols, Colt/Beretta/Kimber/NAA/Ruger one of the coolest is Beretta 87
think i'll add Volquartson, Anschultz soon

Slick looking gun. I've got an old Remington 572 Fieldmaster pump .22 that was passed down to me by my late grandfather. I keep wanting a 10/22 until I get the old pump action out and see how accurate and flawlessly it shoots.

The new Ruger in the OP sure looks nice though.

Nice rifle. I'm shooting a Henry .22 and an old Remington Speed Master. It seems ever Ruger .22 i've ever had has become a present to a youngster that showed an interest.

That is a nice looking rifle, and I'll second that recommendation to put a Kidd trigger in it. A Kidd trigger makes a great rifle even better.

The answer to your question is an ignorant man! Haha.
I got into guns late and thought what was the point of a 22. I've totally come around and think everyone should have one. And special love to the 10/22. I've had one and after we married my wife needed her own according to her.
FYI, I've sent my trigger to a place called Brimstone gun something, smithing or works. They do a good trigger job which made a world of a difference. I'm sure u can buy parts and diy, but this was easy and affordable for me.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Somebody had the Ruger drop-in BX trigger kit for ~$50 on Black Friday. I already had it in mine, it's pretty good.

No .22! I shoot a .22 rim fire 90% of the time. About 15k rounds a year. Have a Kimber rifle that is great practice since it is a full size gun. A Colt 1911 full size and several more. I pity the rats, skunks and jackrabbits around here!

Put more rounds thru 10/22 than any other gun - by far. Son and I leaded up the first barrel. Rattled apart three different scopes. Now it has bull barrel, hogue stock, Leopold scope, and shoots better than new. Was really great when you could buy a 550 rounds of 22's for $8.

I'm a fan of the marlin 795. Keep one leaned up by the back door, wife smoked a yote with it not long ago. I prefer a fixed 4x32 scope

OK gang it's not that I never had a 22 rifle, I've had several but for some reason just quit shooting them. I gave my last to my brother it was a Thompson Center Classic. Gave my Anshutz 1416 HB to a friend of mines daughter. Started shooting the 17 HMR and just quit on the 22's. I still have several 22 cal revolvers and a couple of auto's.
The little Ruger is light and easy to get in and out the window of the truck. The peep sights are excellent and I probably won't scope it. The trigger while not as bad as I was expecting it to be will most likely be replaced. It drew it's first blood today with a coyote at about 50 yards drinking water out of the road. Hit him in the H/L area and knocked him down but he needed another shot to make it permanent. For 220 dollars it's well worth the coin and acts like it was made to ride shotgun in a truck.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.
