Heading to San Angelo this weekend. Is the rut pretty much over in this area?
Thanks!

It has tapered off, but not over. There is still some activity going on, and should be round two in the near future...

I hunt east of there, near Rockwood S. of Santa Anna. Sunday AM saw an 8pt staying close to his doe of choice (or opportunity). There was also a smaller spike/3 pt tagging along.

Pay it forward - Kids are the future.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

This^^

Last weekend, the mature deer were still roaming looking for love, but I didn't see any interested in the doe they were finding. Secondary rut will kick off in the next week or so.

Good luck up
