Posted some older pics of this deer in velvet and a couple just out of velvet. Here are some more, maybe better pics. Would like to get your thoughts of age/score. I figured him older in the earlier pics, but now Im second guessing. Thanks for any help.

Just wondering if he will get better or lose the drop tine...his tines are not tall, maybe his genetics and he will never have height.

From these pics I would call him a 4 yr old. Droptines are not very predictable IME from year to year. Some bucks have them every year and some only once. Some are genetics and some are from an injury.

5 yr. still a nice deer even w/o long tines. Do you already have a drop tine buck on the wall? Do you want one? If you have one/don't want this one let him go another year.

If he's 5 1/2, his antlers aren't likely to get any bigger, are they?

It stops short of his brisket in front of his legs. He does not have the neck muscling of a 5 yr old buck either in the rut. How much staining does he have on his rear hocks(if you have pics of him)?
As far as him getting better. Look at the rainfall you had last year and this year. Will you get that rainfall next year? If you like him, kill him. If you think he will get better next year, let him live.
