There have been three trophies taken so far. I'm still looking for the Big 10.

Whoa. I hate to think how much I'd be shaking on that third one. They're all great, but dadgum.

He scored 154 even. I had been hunting for 8 days and only saw one mature deer. This guy shows up Friday night and kills on the first hunt. realmad

We have not seen him (yet). He still gets a free pass. I'm still waiting for the ten or an older mature deer to show up. I have another trip planned and hopefully we will get a good freeze by then. The pasture is as green as I have ever seen it this time of year. They will get hungry and be more visible when the green stuff is gone. up

I just spent 16 days west of Ft. Stockton and there is no end to the green this year. We had 2.6" of rain the 3 days after Thanksgiving. Mule Deer were in the best shape we have seen in our 9 yrs. They were also the hardest to hunt in 9 yrs with all the green. We had frost for 5 straight mornings and still had tons of winter weeds everywhere and green browse in some spots.

I know what you mean. It rained opening weekend and Thanksgiving weekend. I did not hunt in the actual sunlight until I went last week. Usually it is bone dry by now and the deer are hungry. It has been totally different than my last 11 years hunting out there.

Those are some great looking bucks, congrats to the hunters.

I really enjoy that part of Texas. It is unusually green and I think it's because we keep getting warm sunny days after the fronts bring the rain and colder temps.

Good luck getting the ten. I'm with stxranchman on the drop tine buck. up
