Got the hoist for my Bday. Hunted solo Thurs. & Fri. and had this 165 lb. old guy step out. Would have been a good 9 pt. to mount but had 2 broken times. Euro mount I guess. Love the receiver hoist!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Congratulations, that's a great old buck. And good on you for using your head instead of your back for loading that deer.

Congratulations! Which hoist did you go with? I've been thinking about getting one of those.

Congratulations! Which hoist did you go with? I've been thinking about getting one of those. I bought it from Discount Ramps ( http://www.discountramps.com/game-hoist/p/DEER-HOIST-SWIVEL/) but through their Ebay listing. It was one of those open-box deals. It is more heavy duty than the others (lifts 500# rather than just 300#). Works great!

Have a swivel lift and without it would not have got last year's 8 pointer or this year's 9 pointer in pickup bed. They were field dressed. The young Studs may do without them but the old guys will certainly appreciate one.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Just make sure it uses a strap not a cable. I hear that the cable types will fray & break eventually. Strap is the only way to go.

Nice deer! A good taxidermist can fix those broken tines if you wanted to go that route. I've built several of those game hoist and they're worth their weight in gold!
