Tikka, good choice. Ive worked up loads for several and they shot excellent. Savage is my choice because I am a tinkerer and they have all shot well and I can make them what I want when I want. My 300blk became a 6.5 Grendel today. Looks cool with a 16.25" barrel too.

Tikka gets my vote. This is my T3 Lite stainless, in 243, with Tikka performance rail, Burris rings, and an older Leupold VX-IIc scope. As you can see, it tips the scales at 7 lbs 9 oz.

Looks like Weaver rings to me. River, if this is addressed at my photo... those are the Burris Extreme Tactical rings with the six bolt caps.

I've got 2 Tikka's that both shoot well but stay in the safe when I go hunting! I bought one new (online) and the other was given to me as partial payment on a debt. I never cared for the cheap stocks on them and I've never upgraded them! It seems pointless to spend 700 on a rifle then have to dump more money into another stock when other 700 dollar rifles shoot just as well and feel much better when shouldered. Just my .02

I actually like the synthetic stock that came with my Tikka. I see no need to change it out.

Many years ago I knew some folks who bought cars based on Consumer Reports recommendations. They ended up with excellent cars that they hated. Use this kind of information to eliminate bad choices, not to select your best choice. You have to see and handle these rifles to discover which ones fit you. You will know the right one when you've got it in your hands.
Do not buy a rifle because of the recommendations of others. Make up your own mind. Fantastic advice.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

Can't go wrong with a Tikka. I am still very impressed with the out of the box accuracy. I own a T3 in .243 win and I love it! Did you mention what caliber you got or did I miss it? This is a picture of my T3 .243, I bought it used. I used to be a big Savage fan, after shooting a Tikka its now my favorite. The action and trigger are amazing!

Nice, can't go wrong with that. Once you get it up and running post some target pics!
