I just got my new 300WM out for the first time. This is the second build I have had done by Aaron Roberts at RP Rifles and I am very impressed.
Specs:

Trued 700 action with tac knowb
Bartlein 1:9 Sendero countour threaded and capped at 26''
Bedded in a McMillan M40
Badger bottom metal
All metal cerakoted in olive
Nightforce 20 MOA rail
I put a Kahles K6-24i in Badger rings

I ran the very first load development rounds through it this last weekend and was really impressed. All 3's-6's. 178 AMax and RL17 I havent noticed pressure yet so i am going to try and speed it up and see what happens

As a side note, the Thunderbeast that I run on it reduced recoil by 30-40% and sounds like a .22 Mag

Aaron builds a heck of a rifle. He's a pretty good shooter himself too.

Wow, I really like that rifle. I like the classic camo coloring. And great choice in caliber!

Just be careful working up a max or near max load in the cold temps of winter time with R17. When the temps warm up, you could easily be over max and have high pressure signs with R17. Especially shooting suppressed. A suppressor will increase your pressures.

He does build a fine rifle. I actually took a 0-1000 yard class he put on this year and learned a lot.

Thanks Chad, something to ponder. I thought Alliant was working on the temperature sensitivity issues on their R seriaes?

Awesome rig

I'd load the sucker with a 210 Berger at H-1000 and let the big dog eat!

they did. They came out with the R23, R26, R33, R50, and their Power Pro series of powders. The original R15, R22, and R17 are temp sensitive. The R17 is a double base, extruded powder, which makes it even ore temp sensitive. It's a great powder for increased speeds, but pressure sneaks up on R17 loads fast.

Well Chad, you are correct. I pushed it over book max this weekend. Still no sticky bold or flat primers, but, it went from 1/2'' avg to 1 1/2''avg. so back I go.

Have you ever used Retumbo in the 300WM?

Yes, but not for anything lighter than 225 grains. I use Retumbo for my Hornady 225 BTHP and the Berger 230's. Retumbo would be a little too slow for a 178 A-max. I'd lean towards R22 or H4831 burn rate, maybe H1000.

Chad, I was more referring to stepping up to the 210 Berger. I run Retumbo in my 6.5-284 with 140 Hybrids and get really good results

After shooting this gun for the last couple of months, I just could not warm up to the M40 on here. McMillan had this A5 in stock. All they had to do was the inlet. This is one of their new colors, its called Forest Spectre. Got it bedded in and will be trying it out tomorrow. I really like how well the color matched up with my cerakote.

I dont have a clue what it weighs, the scope itself weighs 2 lbs. By the time you get the suppressor on the end, it is heavy. It is definately not a walking mans gun.
