We have hundreds of mice each day at our feeders. We've had pictures of over 30 at one feeder at a time. How can we get rid of them? They are taking all our corn.

Is poison ok to use around deer? How do you get rid of mice at a deer feeder?

30 very small DP traps
Really, I would like to know too. I have a family of rats that think they own the feeder. I just figured they weren't eating too much.

Stop shooting all the coyotes and bobcats....

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

We also have more mice & rats than you can shake a stick at. I don't think there is really a good way to get rid of them in S Texas. Some years are worse than others depending on where you are, but they are always there. I turn the feeders up so to give non-vermin a better chance of eating corn. I've seen close to 100 mice, rats, & rabbits show up under a feeder at one time. eek2 The only thing that might work is to sit in the off season with a Sega 12 gauge w/a drum mag loaded with bird shot from a ground blind and unleash hell as fast as you can pull the trigger. Have lots of snakes, hawks, owls, yotes, & cats, still have a mice problem. I bought a Judge loaded with bird shot to shoot them from the tractor while mowing. It's also pretty entertaining, just bring plenty of shells.

They call it "ratting" and it really seems to have almost arcade-like appeal.

You have to say "ratting" with a slight broque British accent and sounds much more sophisticated than the Texas version which would be "rattin'."

Never had this problem, but we have lots of coyotes. You ever have many snakes around your feeder? Had some friends that had that problem around San Angelo, but they said they always had to watch for rattle bugs when they fed their feeders.

This, at least do not kill the bobcats. Bobcats, hawks, owls, and snakes all will bring rodents under control.

Do not use poison. The mice are eaten by all of the above and it will poison them and end up in your water, and every place the mice go such as in the feeders.

We have an average coyote and bobcat population. We have a good amount of new owls...left two blinds open...

I've been researching online about this and from what I found it says nature will take its course on them...their population maxes out every 4-5 years...then too many of them so their population dwindles. I guess we are about at the max now.

Would be fun with a gamo and cheap night vision, like y'all said

I like the fact that the dad had the kid doing the work. Also, I think that I would try at least two cans, so more of the wire was covered. Then I'd only bait the middle ends of both cans. It would be a lot more work-- but if you bury most of the bucket then it would be really easy for the mice/rats to access the trap.
