Filled my 125 last Thursday morning about 2/3 full. Used it all weekend.. duck meat, fish, used ice to fill my roadie, so it was opened and closed quite a bit. It's been in the back of my truck since last thursday, sunlight and all. This is how much ice was left as of last night (almost one week). Thats 30+ lbs of ice

For the record, I use it for offshore fishing trips, hunting trips where we'll take 2+ deer plus hogs, etc. Not a 'beer' cooler!

They all know you went to 7 - 11 and bought that ice for propaganda use.

Not a 'beer' cooler!

What a waste of a good cooler

That's impressive, but it would be more impressive if it were July instead of mid November. My Coleman Extreme had plenty of ice left too from Thursday until Monday.

My wife has so much stuff in the garage fridge that I've hidden my Saint Pauli Girl for Friday's mule deer trip in the Pelican with a bag of ice. Closest I've ever come to "keepin' somethin' on the side."

For me using a yeti isn't about ice retention for the majority of what i use it for, it's for durability. got tired of hinges and handles breaking. For me, it was worth the extra to have one that can handle the abuse and still hold up. But they do hold ice for a good bit of time! I love mine and don't care what anyone says. When they start paying for my coolers, they can tell me what i should and shouldn't buy.

Shot a deer last Friday morning, on ice before 9 AM. Keep in mind the ice was all the way to the top Friday, I haven't added any to it and it has been outside all week.

This is a lot of it for me. They aren't magic but they can sure hold together well.

I put an Axis in a yeti and another axis in a igloo. Drove back to Midland from Ingram in 100 degree weather about 4 hours. The meat in the Yeti still very frozen. Igloo a little soft. Both Axis processed and frozen in Ingram.

The whole reason I got the 125 was for weekend offshore trips in July-August. Had the 65 before this one and it kept ice the whole trip but not nearly big enough for a weekends worth of tuna. This time of year it's perfect for a weekend hunt, can fit 2 quartered deer plus a small hog or 2 with plenty ice.

My brother-in-law died back in 2013. we didn't have money for the funeral so we bought a yeti for him. He's been on the porch ever since (we open the top when we drink beer).

rofl

You could have had the service here: Church of Yeti

(The last time I posted this, it caused quite the little discussion. In fact, I believe I am the first on here to be labeled "Yeti aggressor", and I wear the mantle proudly.)

As much as we pay for em , using them for a casket starts to justify the price. That's a funny pic

If it's 'treated'...using ice prior to actual use it will keep it forever. I'll throw a few cubes from the freezer at night and drain in the morning and then pick up ice on the way out and have never once had an issue with it melting too much.

Before I bought my cooler I did a ton of research because there are so many rotomolded coolers these days. As far as the yeti being durable, they are pretty durable but the Yeti folks broke one in their own Youtube video, then failed to acknowledge it on film. Its pretty funny because it is a video that Yeti made to demonstrate how tough their cooler is. They throw a yeti off a cliff and while it was still in one piece, it has a HUGE crack in the bottom of it. Very obvious, hard to overlook. I ended up going with a Grizzly and have been extremely pleased.

I really have a hard time paying the high Yeti price tag when they aren't even made in America anymore.

Meant to include the video, fast forward to 1:16 for the toss off the cliff and pay attention at 1:27. If you pause it you can see a huge crack in the bottom right hand corner.

I have had the same Coleman for at least 10 years - nothing wrong it except the ruler molded into the top of the lid shrunk when it got wet so it doesn't measure correctly now.

1. My Coleman costs much, much less.
2. My Coleman keeps ice just as well as my buddy's Yeti.
3. When my Coleman fails to the point of needing replaced I will buy another and still be money ahead of the one Yeti! And, it will be the latest and greatest in ice-keeping technology!

Really what am I missing besides a sticker? Bet I can have a Coleman sticker made on the Internet for a few dollars. Maybe by the time I buy another Coleman they too will come with a sticker then people will think they're cool and go crazy about them.

Maybe it's the sticker that turns me off. Makes me think of the Calvin whizzing on Chevy/Dodge/Ford stickers... Ima make one of him whizzing on Yeti.

Cheers - Mickey

I got a good laugh and thought of all of you on New Years Eve... I was a wedding groomsman that eve and one of the gifts I received was a Yeti Rambler (30oz).

Raise a glass with me,

I own a yeti and it is a well built cooler and does keep ice longer than less expensive Coleman -igloo type coolers. But I will never purchase another till they start making them in the USA. The idea of paying 400 bucks for a cooler that is made in a third world country to avoid US labor and envirmental laws to me is absurd. I plan on purchasing a large rotomolded cooler soon, but it will be made in the USA.

Just my humble opinion.
