This deer is a survivor with the arrow still in him. He's eating, so he might make it if a bad infection doesn't take over. Kinda sad though. Plus, I would think twice before I tried to take this deer, he doesn't look to meet ARs, or at the very least he is borderline.

Looks like crossbow bolt and bad shot placement.

That deer should be put down. Theres no excuse to do that to an animal.

That deer should never been shot in the first place.

Along with a steep ticket for shooting an illegal deer, if indeed he doesn't make AR's, and I don't believe he will! bang good grief, if you're close enough to shoot a deer with an arrow, you're close enough to tell whether or not he meets AR's

dueling with android... Still not seen pic, wether it did or didn't make AR, not sure of its rules, thinking has ta be wider than 13" inside spread... While every one tis debating, if arrow or bolt gets bumped, deer suffers from broad head... If seen the deer, would do the humain thing, call GW, an explain... Twas how raised... flag

Bad shots happen it's part of hunting. Just hope the hunter was doing their best to be legal and learned from the mistake. I do agree that deer should probably go ahead and be shot.

Can they shoot him with a tranquilizer and remove it or at least cut it off at the base. He will have it rough with the arrow sticking out, trying to run through woods, etc.

Looks like a bolt and not that much penetration no vitals damaged or he would already be down. Not a large entry may have been defective mechanical. Everybody leave him alone he will prolly recover from this wound. Deer are some tough SOB's.

2cents since it is Open Hunting Discussion forum... i've been on several different leases with familiy members, & members met threw the lease... All were buck only, no 13" rule... Each member had different incomes, year round lease, $200.00-$250.00 a gun.. rules were basicly, tis your tag... Heard on different leases were they setting rules over county rules, & were their were blowups, kinda like the ammo shortage, every one stock up, supply&demand, prices went up... Same with leases... Low income can't aford the prices for grillen & chillen... We had workdays, ya figure cost of corn foodplots, we had small camper, legal deer is legal deer... BBT first legal deer steps out, others get educated... All have heard of the nocturnal deer... Some deer will always be basket racks... That deer be settle between members... They know better of deer ratio... Most agree deer tis sufffering... AR rule go out window... If deer does survive wound gonna effect rack next year... Health of deer hurd more important than rack size... Then i'm not on lease... flag
