They won't typically move much during heavy downpours, but they move in light rain and move especially well right before and right after heavy downpours, particularly if it rains hard for an extended period of time. I hunted November 7th in the rain and saw over 20 deer that morning. LOTS of movement.

Lots of deer have been killed during a light rain or between heavy storms, I can only imagine how many more would have been killed if so many people decided not to stay home on the rainy weekends

I saw more bucks than usual during the monsoon when the rain let up. I guess the rut peaked Thanksgiving weekend in Breckenridge, as most bucks I saw were not any I have seen on trail cams, and I didn't see any that I had on trail cam. I'm guessing that was the peak of the rut and all the bucks were traveling.

I have seen a lot of activity historically whenever it was raining off and on.

I'm old, but if I can stay dry, I enjoy hunting in the rain a lot. I see a lot of deer moving right after a storm passes.

You always see more deer in the rain than what you see if you are sitting at home. WIth that theory, I hunt every chance I get.

I've found that stalking near bedding areas during or just after a rain works very well. Soft ground, low light, and the patter of drops still coming off trees makes them much less alert. I got very close to a few doing this Thanksgiving weekend.

They also seem to hit my feeders hard during rain, but not so much the rest of the time recently.
