On Thanksgiving morning we were at our place in Haskell County for just a bit. We saw tons of birds. I was amazed. The second hunt should be awesome.

Dead sunflowers still in the field at my lease. Too wet for the owner to do anything. Saw more dove than I expected but not as many as you described.

I got in the middle of some big migrations during 2nd season last year. Wasn't expecting it. I never know wether to deer hunt or dove hunt during the 2nd season. Should be interesting this year.

Never seen so many dove in December at our fields near Olney . Groups of 20-30 and they were flying around all day between the adjacent wheat fields & our dead sunflowers & fresh plowed dirt .

I cancelled the hunt. Most of my birds left with last Sundays rain. What was left has steadily been leaving all week. Saw about 50 this morning when I was seeing 400-500 in the past couple of weeks.

Same here in Haskell Stompy
Seen some patches where they are thick but only in the mesquite thickets where they are roosting

Two weeks ago they were thick

You are a good guide for doing the right thing

Crazy thing is we saw more doves last weekend than we saw ducks from our blind! They are getting thick here in NFW

Bunch showed up this morning. Probably around 300 in one group. The problem hunting them is they all come in together and leave together and very little action in between. It would be the best hunting you've ever had for about 15 minutes, then nothing.

I'm beginning to think the birds never left. I think they stayed in the trees last week when it was cold and windy.
