I have a few of both but seems more and more have problems with the motor or batteries. Leaning towards just going all in demand feeders. Any input on what most people think are better? Only negatives I've found is sometimes they go through your feed very quickly and you can't regulate as well so sometimes it's empty if I can't get to the place often to fill it up.

I would say you listed the main negative.

Yes I have one pretty big on demand feeder and have out about 800 pounds in it since the week before opening day and they have gone through it all. I'm glad it's being used but have to keep it full for sure.

On demand the deer will go nocturnal. Varmints will help them self 24/7

We use on demand for protein from Spring till fall the switch to spin cast for corn from October till season ends. We do not have on demand in all of our pens. We just space them out and close to water supply.

We leave our spin cast running all year weather full or empty. With them running year round the spin cast are much less troublesome than shutting them off and restarting during off season.
