Interesting. I always thought B&C for typical was 172" bur this is what the website says:

typical whitetail deer
160 170
non-typical whitetail deer
185 195

Buffalo, 170 and 195 net are the minimum scores for entry into the All Time record book. 160 and 185 nets are recognized by B&C in their annual awards, but they do not make "the book".

Those numbers seem low, not saying your wrong at all, but I would have expect quite a few more in 30 years period.

Anybody have an idea of what percentage the reported ones make up of what is actually killed?

I wonder how the number would be different after 10 years of gun hunting popcorn

Guess that's not actually the B&C but the contest.

I only listed the top 5 counties - there are a number more listed when you include all Texas Counties.

These are straight out of the records provided by B&C. Many bucks gross the required score but very few net book.

I can get any time frame. Past ten years, etc.

To qualify it is a pretty solid process. Drying period and then an official B&C scorer has to measure and turn in the score sheets to B&C. Hunter has to complete paperwork verifying where killed, etc.
