A bit early for my holes- but 1/2 what I saw yesterday was green. Few wigeons teal and typical ringers there as well.

I am drawing water down another 6 inches which should help puddle duck numbers

Not seeing as much grey this year, though

Going out tomorrow to see what is in the wetlands but the pond up from the house had ducks on it this morning, the first time this season. It's a good indicator pond to know when new ducks move in.

We killed an unusually high number of mallards during the first split. Hoping it sasnt just a fluke.

Just spooked off 14 greenies a slew of gwt and another half dozen or so cancans off one of our satellite ponds while moseying into a deer blind.

Hope my target buck walks in tonight so I can get the scattergun ready for the back half of the season.

Because of the rain there is a decent amount of flooded buck brush type stuff in my neck of NTX, and it's holding a good bit of mallards. I can't help but to swing by every day and watch them. Yesterday evening I stopped and counted around 50, then watched another 125-150 drop into it. Always fun to watch.

Was not expecting to see much but while deer hunting this past weekend I checked our duck pond and it was loaded. Was kind of shocked about it. The pond has always held ducks but this was an unusually high number. Mallards, Gadwalls, Widgeon, Teal, and some woodies.

We dug a slough out of the pond last year where the water runs back into a group of oaks that resembles flooded timber now with all the rain and I think that is why the birds are there in bigger numbers.

I've seen some green in some unexpected places as well this year starting last weekend.

Had a bunch of green and grey feeding on acorns and now the actors are done pretty much. Went from 200 ish birds to 2 today. They were all there Sunday. One week cost me.
