For you folks that carry daily, I am wondering how you cover during the hot summers? I work in what you could call "construction", night work and generally alone. I can get my CHL through the LEO provisions, but don't see anyway to "conceal", when I wear blue jeans and cheap pocket tee shirts for work. (something I can get paint on and not worry about it in the heat).

Haven't kept up on the open carry proposal, would love that! since that is what I am familier with during my LE time.

About 1/2 or 3/4" of my Bersa Thunder sticks out of my back pocket. I just make sure I have a shirt pulled down over it.

I couldn't ever keep my gun really concealed either when carrying the traditional way 4-5 o'clock with the way I dressed which is jeans and tee shirts all the time when I'm not at work. The gun printed too much and just stuck out like a sore thumb on my side. I started carrying small of the back and it is easy to conceal, but not comfortable when sitting down. So looked for another way to carry and I came across the appendix in the waist band carry method. The gun absolutely disappears with this method even large frame guns are almost undetectable from just looking. It took a little getting used to when sitting down but you just have to remember the gun will ride up high once you get this figured out, it is one of the most comfortable ways I've ever carried and I don't have to worry about someone seeing my gun print.

I know a lot of guys will say oh I don't want to point a gun at my private parts, but its really no worse than holstering a gun IWB pointing it at your leg where one of the biggest arteries in your body is. I've noticed one thing that carrying appendix carry will make you more aware when re-holstering. I carry a G27 and when re-holstering the gun you just take better care there is nothing obstructing the trigger when the gun goes in the holster, which you should do anyway, but most people don't think about it until their gun is pointed at their junk LOL I know I didn't.

A slim gun is key and something like a Bullard bodyguard outside.

Thanks for all the thoughts and suggestions so far. Intended carry weapon will likely be a Sig 227r carry. Not small, but not as big as my p220

Even with the open carry law, I'd want at least partial concealment, but would worry less if it is seen.

That's exactly how I intend to utilize the new open carry laws. Outside waistband with an untucked shirt
